Those called to the life of long-term missions need the ability to integrate a supernatural lifestyle with the practical skills of living cross culturally. This is key for success in long-term missions.

May 14-25, 2018, Bethel’s Long-Term Missions Department is hosting the annual Bethel Mission Intensive Training School–a specialized training focused on practical skills of living cross-culturally combined with the supernatural.

Living abroad can be challenging and difficult, especially in hostile environments. Bethel Mission Intensive Training School provides the skills necessary to not only survive, but thrive. Get equipped and empowered for long-term effectiveness and sustainability. Bethel Mission Intensive Training School is open to all called to long-term missions and meets the admission requirements (see below).

We Target 4 Foundational Keys

  1. Cross Cultural Adaptation & Lifestyle – Acquire the skills and ability to adapt and live cross culturally in another nation.
  2. Spiritual Atmospheres–Get tools to identify and deal with spiritual climates in difficult places.
  3. Building Resiliency – Self and Family Care–Learn how to thrive as a single or how to protect your family, strengthen your marriage, and give your children a positive experience.
  4. Build Well, Build Strong – Building and maintaining healthy relationships with nationals and team members.

  • Applicants who have not graduated from BSSM or who are not Bethel Redding Church members, will be required to have completed Bethel.TV series “Kingdom Core Values” or read the book “Kingdom Culture” by Dann Farrelly.
  • A letter of recommendation will be required from a Pastor or Spiritual Leader.
  • Certificate of Completion will be given at the end of the course.
  • Child care and housing will not be provided.
  • There will be no sessions held over the weekend. Sessions are from 9:00am-5:00pm every day.



Mission Intensive Training School offers an opportunity to be taught by the best. Our speakers include experienced missionaries and leaders who’ve successfully ministered cross culturally in foreign nations.

Bill Johnson

Senior Leadership Team, Bethel Church

Bill Johnson, with his wife Beni, are the Senior Leaders of Bethel Church in Redding, California. Bill lives his life with the core values that God is good, nothing is impossible, the blood of Jesus paid for everything, and we are significant. He travels extensively throughout the world encouraging believers to bring the kingdom of heaven into their world and sphere of influence. Bill’s also the author of a number of bestselling books including When Heaven Invades Earth and Hosting the Presence.

Kris Vallotton

Senior Leadership Team, Bethel Church

Kris Vallotton is the Senior Associate Leader of Bethel Church and co-founder of Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry (BSSM). Kris travels internationally training and equipping people to successfully fulfill their divine purpose. He has a diverse background in business, counseling, consulting, pastoring and teaching, which gives him unique leadership insights and perspectives. Kris has a passion to use his experience and his prophetic gift to assist world leaders in achieving their goals and accomplishing their mission.

Eric Johnson

Eric and Candace Johnson serve on the Senior Leadership Team at Bethel Church in Redding, California and are the Senior Leaders over the local church, Bethel Redding. Eric is the eldest son of Bill and Beni Johnson. He is a sixth-generation minister and travels internationally speaking and ministering throughout the year. He has authored Momentum: What God Starts, Never Ends and Christ in You: Why God Trusts You More Than You Trust Yourself.

Candace Johnson

Senior Leadership Team, Bethel Church

Candace Johnson co-leads with her husband, Eric, in pastoring Bethel Redding. Her primary focus is creating community that unlocks people and launches them into their destiny. She is passionate about living life to the fullest, setting the captives free, adventure, laughing, being tenderized by God's love, and aiming it at those around her. Captivated by her lovely two daughters and incredible husband, Candace's family makes her feel like the wealthiest person alive!

Dawna De Silva

Author of Shifting Atmospheres

Dawna is founder and co-leader of Bethel SOZO International and Director of the Transformation Center. Dawna’s manual Shifting Atmospheres, a detailed teaching on how to discern the spiritual forces around us and how to have authority over them, has become a sought-after tool worldwide. Dawna is recognized not only as an international leader of thousands of deliverance ministers but as a prophetic voice to the nations.

Dan McCollam

Dan McCollam serves as international director of Sounds of the Nations, a missions organization releasing the song of the Lord in the sound of the people, currently facilitating God encounters and advancing revival in 51 language groups worldwide. Dan shares an equal passion for the local church by co-leading The Mission in Vacaville, California and training in Bethel School of the Prophets, WorshipU, and Leaders Advances. He has authored over 20 books and produced hundreds of worship recordings. Dan and his wife Regina have 4 children and 2 grandchildren.

Tracy Evans

I Reach Africa, Mozambique

Tracy Evans is a physician assistant and the founding director of I Reach Africa, a nonprofit organization committed to reversing the cycles of poverty, disease and death in Mozambique, Africa. Tracy offers a feeding program that provides daily medical care and milk to 600 orphan infants and HIV+/handicapped children. She's served in Mozambique since 1999.

Mike & Lynne Chandler

Bethel Missions Department Pastors

Mike and Lynne Chandler are Bethel's long-term missions pastors. They come with 38 years of pastoral and missionary experience. They launched their missionary career in Malawi, Africa in 1984. They served 13 years as missionaries to Malawi and 13 years in Europe. Their Europe years included pastoring the International Church of Barcelona in Spain, then moving to Zagreb, Croatia where they ministered country wide in that war torn part of former Yugoslavia. Their last assignment before coming to Bethel was providing pastoral care to missionaries around the world with a ministry called Caring Connection. Their passion for Bethel is to help develop a greater long-term missions outreach. They believe long-term presence is a necessary key to bringing transformation to a nation.

Steve & Lorraine Box

Steve and Lorraine Box have served in various forms of church leadership for over 30 years, pastoring and equipping leaders both nationally and internationally. Together, they travel the world. They have a unique synergy that helps individuals and teams discover their identity and potential in a way that leads to breakthrough with sustained growth.

Michele Phoenix

TCK Advocate
Born in France to a Canadian father and an American mother, Michele Phoenix is an international writer and speaker with a heart for MKs. She taught for twenty years at Black Forest Academy (Germany) before launching her own ministry advocating for TCKs. She now travels globally to consult and teach on topics related to this unique people group. Michèle loves good conversations, mischievous students, Marvel movies and French pastries. Kirk Schauer

Kirk and his wife Denise are the Founders and International Directors of Seeds of Hope International Partnerships. SoHIP is a nonprofit organization that has beee working in Sub-Sahara Africa for 14 years. They are dedicated to bringing the kingdom of God by working to reverse the downward spiral of poverty through empowering community members with hope and multifaceted solutions such as drilling water wells, water filtration, and agricultural and Kingdom business development.
